Givenchy AW15 Menswear

Givenchy's AW collection is a prime example, contextually, of my idea in recreating Miss Havisham. The make up is disturbing yet beautiful, it's so ugly yet absolutely incredible. Pat McGrath was the brains behind this idea. When I first look at it I see deformities and skin infections but with the use of glitter it somehow make it more acceptable to be shown on the runway. I wanted to use this concept of having all these things wrong with Miss Havisham but putting a more fashion forward, 'prettier' approach towards it. MAKING THE GROTESQUE, ATTRACTIVE. I wanted to apply red to the face to mimic lack of sleep, soreness, dry skin etc but have more of a shimmer to it, for an example.
